Our Mission
Black Academic Scholarship Fund (BASF) has been active in the community since 1991 and exists to provide financial assistance to students from the Black community who are in the process of acquiring an education in any area of study, at an accredited institution and to provide career advice, mentoring and counselling services.
Scholarships
To date BASF has awarded over 300 scholarships with funds donated by supporters as well as funds raised via fundraising activities. A Scholarship award ceremony to honour students who have received a scholarship, is held annually.

Remembering Sylvia Piggott
Sylvia Elaine (née Linton) Piggott 1936 - 2021
It is with great sadness that the Black Academic Scholarship Fund announces the recent passing of its President, Mrs. Sylvia Piggott. She was one of the founding members of the BASF and its President from the inception.
