Deeply passionate about law and social justice, Robertho Chéry combines rigor, tenacity, and boldness in my journey. Always curious to discover new cultures, he is committed to building an open fair legal future.

Seunnla Adelusi

Areas of interest: Social Media, Alumni engagement, Grants, Fundraising events

Seunnla Adelusi is a doctoral researcher at Université de Sherbrooke (UdeS) and a 2024 Vanier Scholar, having received Canada’s most prestigious national award for doctoral students. She has a strong track record of excellence and leadership, earning multiple international awards throughout her studies in Nigeria, England, Slovenia, Sweden, and Canada. During her PhD, she has received the CSME Gold Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement, the SWAAC Graduate Student Award of Merit and the 2024 BASF Graduate Scholarship. Beyond research, Seunnla is passionate about education and gender equality advocacy, dedicating much of her time to volunteering. She has spoken at over 50 seminars and workshops, including the 2024 One Young World Summit, the world’s biggest and most impactful youth leadership summit. She has rich leadership and volunteering experience in Nigeria and Europe where she obtained her bachelors and master’s degree respectively. She currently works part-time as an Academic Consultant with BeMo Consulting while serving as a student representative in the CRASH research group and teaching assistant at her university.

Alexander Arnoux Pierre

Alexander Arnoux Pierre is an accomplished community organizer, entrepreneur, and visionary builder whose work spans Canada, France, and the United States, Africa and South Asia. A certified Business Advisor with Growth Wheel and a certified Human Rights Consultant, he combines professional expertise with a deep commitment to social justice and collective empowerment. Originally trained as a carpenter, Alexander has applied his hands-on discipline and creativity to shaping both physical spaces and social change. His public service role with the City of Montreal reflects his dedication to urban life, while his international leadership has been marked being a Haitian Leader in Global Affairs, Canada, Africa and South Asia. There, he worked alongside local leaders to strengthen community resilience and social cohesion, efforts documented by renowned sociologist William Kornblum. In 2020, Alexander was invited to the Graduate Center at Doctoral Program of Sociology in Manhattan to share his experiences and insights, contributing to international dialogues on community transformation. Guided by empathy, innovation, and vision, he continues to create opportunities for growth, cultural connection, and empowerment. Above all, he sees his work as carving a path not only for his community but also for his children, ensuring that legacy and leadership go hand in hand.

Miguel Tionjock

Miguel Tionjock is first-year medical student at McGill University. He had the honor of winning a bursary from BASF in 2024 and is committed to giving back to the same association and community that helped and believed in him. Miguel loves tutoring and sharing his knowledge with students, and his favorite sport is football (the real one)!

Ann-Clara François

Biomedical Scholarship recipient from the BASF in 2023, Ann-Clara is now volunteering on the Marketing and Outreach Committee of this same organization. In 2024, she completed a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the Université de Montréal, where she developed an interest in research. She is currently working as a research assistant at the CRCHUM in psychiatric sciences and studying medicine at McGill University. She hopes to have a positive impact on Black students, just as this organization has had on her. 

Allison Saunders

Secretary

Allison is a Mother and, an “Accidental Activist”, a Digital Content Strategist at Concordia University and more. In 2020, she was appointed as a co-opted commissioner and the Lester B Pearson School Board to assist with their commitment to fighting racism in their schools and centers. She is also on the Board of Directors of Overture with the Arts (OWTA), a non-profit organization that uses the arts as a vehicle for education and creative exploration and where students are introduced to elements of history, social and cultural change, Recognizing the need for change in her community, Allison co-organized the West Island Takes and Knee anti-racism protest in June 2020 and continues to use her voice to work towards a diverse and inclusive community in which all citizens feel welcome.
